Ortiz, attending the New York City premiere of the new boxing movie “Southpaw,”  was caught by TMZ and asked about the bout.

“Y’know what, it’s embarrassing, bro. That’s not even a fight,” Ortiz said, adding that both fighters just need to retire.

Calling the fight — reportedly scheduled for Sept. 12 in Las Vegas — a disgrace to the sport of boxing, Ortiz added: “I have no respect for that.”

He did repeat a previous suggestion to Mayweather (48-0): Drop Berto and give Ortiz, who fought and lost to Mayweather in 2011, a shot at redemption.

At that point, Ortiz decided that silence might be the best strategy.

“If we keep going, I’ll say a lot of bad things.”
