Shadows of New York is a pseudo-sequel to 2019’s Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York. Shadows has been positioned as a standalone expansion to Coteries by Polish developer Draw Distance. The developer has mentioned that Shadows of New York is seeking to be a more personal story when compared to Coteries of New York, which game focused more on exploring the sects and clans of White Wolf’s World of Darkness role-playing setting.

Shadows of New York has players take the role of Julia, a member of the Lasombra clan seeking to rise up the ranks of Vampire society amid the rapid changing of the guard. Unlike other games in the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise, Shadows places players deep within the world and political machinations, the latter being the driving force of choice.

Shadows of New York and Bloodlines 2 are not the only Vampire games fans can look forward to. During the Nacon Connect digital event, Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong was announced to be coming in 2021. Swansong is another narrative driven game delving into the current world of the tabletop role-playing setting. While things might seem uneasy for with the property within the gaming world, fans are still eager to step into the ranks of the undead elite.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York is releases on September 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
