The U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze conducted what U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) described as a “freedom of navigation” operation this week to challenge “an excessive maritime claim” by Venezuela. SOUTHCOM said the warship did not enter the 12-nautical mile zone internationally recognized as Venezuela’s territorial limit, but the operation prompted condemnation from Caracas regardless. SOUTHCOM commander Navy Admiral Craig Faller said such operations would continue and that freedom of navigation missions “are the bedrock of ongoing security efforts, and essential to regional peace and stability....

In January, Church was dragged behind a car in the parking lot of Gospel Mission Church in Sullivan County, Tennessee. The protesters targeted London’s public transport system during morning rush hour, scaling trains at Canning Town station, as well as gluing themselves to the train doors at Shadwell’s Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station. Further disruption also took place at Stratford station. All three transport hubs are located in the east of the capital. Footage from the scene, recorded by ITV News, shows hostile members of the public shouting and throwing items at the protesters who were holding a “Business as usual=death” banner while on top of the train at Canning Town....
